"A portrait of my children, once a week every week in 2013"

Grace: The birthday girl at her party. Four candles for our big four year old.

Sophie: Five weeks ago, it was all about the sailor's hat. This week, it's been all about beaded necklaces and bracelets. Several times, I've caught her standing on a chair to reach Grace's jewellery box and steal a piece or two. Making her part with what she's 'borrowed' has not been easy.

This week, I was in awe of Steph's golden-hued photo of her sweet Bijou and Anna's clever silhouette of darling Sage.

  2. what a beautiful photo of grace... our kids are lucky to have better photographer mummies and cameras than we did in our day! (and are they fruit tingles on her cake? oh how i used to love them as a kid! my favourite was the white one with all the little sprinkled colour bits in it..heh)

and sophie, so pretty with all her jewellery! you've reminded me that i must go and buy some for olive herself; that way she won't keep wanting mine!

    1. Grace's cake was an orange cake with fruit tingles icing. I'll post more about it this week. The crushed up fruit tingles through the buttercream were yummy!

    2. ooh that cake sounds awesome. i love orange cake, and what an added bonus with fruit tingle icing!

olive's shoes are 'see kai run' (www.seekairun.com.au) and they are fabulous -- they're comfortable and easy to put on and off with the velcro. they're usually quite expensive, but the website has sales and i managed to pick hers up for $29 from funky kids in wembley (i think that particular style was discontinued?)

  3. Happy Birthday Grace! (her cake looks amazing!) I loved her questions too, I love that she wants to be a swimming teacher... even though we've been going to swimming lessons forever I'm not really sure they've realised that Julie (their teacher) doesn't do it just for fun! My girls would be jealous of Sophie's beautiful jewellery :)

  5. Ooh the cake looks awesome Amanda. Grace looks so perfectly FOUR!
And Sophie is the cheekiest, cutest little lady I've seen. Her and Ryder would make a hilarious, chaotic team! He is always 'swiping' his sister's things including her pink jewellery, and rarely wants to part with it! Haa!
    xx
